THREATER Video Production

Promotional, fundraising, and story-driven video for theatres and performing arts nonprofits

At Key Ideas, we are passionate about helping Austin-area schools, charities, and nonprofits convey their message through authentic, compelling video content. While we’re based in San Antonio, we regularly serve nonprofit teams in Austin, across Texas, New York City, and Chicago.

Our team understands the unique challenges these organizations face, from navigating school waivers to meeting government RFP requirements. Working with mission-driven groups is deeply rewarding for us, and we approach each video with care, empathy, and respect for your values. You can trust Key Ideas to be a reliable partner, leveraging our expertise to craft impactful stories and manage logistics efficiently. We’ll handle the filming process, so you can focus on making a difference.

Video Services That Boost Your Impact

Stories that don’t just inspire— they unlock funding.

Live performance is already powerful in the room. The challenge is helping people feel that same energy outside the room — before they’ve ever bought a ticket, donated, or said yes to a partnership.

That’s where video helps. The right story clarifies what your theatre stands for, highlights the community impact you’re creating, and makes it easier for audiences, donors, sponsors, and families to connect with your mission.

Below is a playlist of work we’ve created for The Magik Theatre, along with additional projects filmed in theatre environments — to show the style, pacing, and storytelling approach we bring to art teams.

Video Production FAQ

Pricing depends on what you need and how many deliverables the project includes. Most nonprofit projects fall into a range based on filming days, number of interviews, editing complexity, and whether you need multiple versions for web and social. If you tell us your goal (fundraising, awareness, recruiting, or reporting), we’ll recommend a scope that fits your budget and gets used.

Video production is the process of creation, planning, and execution of the idea for a video. Video production usually comprises three phases: pre-production, production, and post-production.

Fundraising performs best when people can quickly understand three things: who you serve, why it matters, and what support makes possible. We typically recommend an impact film (2–4 minutes) paired with shorter cutdowns (15–60 seconds) for email, social, and event screens. The goal is to help donors feel the mission and clearly see the next step.

That’s normal, and it’s often the best way to get real ROI from the footage. We can build a package that includes a primary video plus cutdowns sized for Instagram, LinkedIn, email, your website, and presentations, so the story stays consistent everywhere your supporters see it.

Most projects take 4–8 weeks from planning to final delivery, depending on scheduling, approvals, and how many versions you need. If you have a fixed date for an event or campaign, we can work backward from that deadline and build a realistic production timeline.

Yes. We’re based in San Antonio and regularly serve teams across Texas, including Austin, and also support clients in other cities. We can meet in person when it matters, and we keep the process organized so your team isn’t carrying the production burden.

We’ll guide the process, but we’ll ask you to help with a few essentials: your primary goal, who the video is for, and access to the people or programs you want to feature. From there, we handle the production plan, interviews, filming, and post-production, and we’ll keep you involved through clear checkpoints.
