Video Production Services in San Antonio
You have a story that needs to be told. Whether you’re a small business, nonprofit, university, public institution, or corporation, your mission matters. But to connect with the people who need to hear it, you need more than just a message. You need a compelling story told through the right channels.
At Key Ideas, we help you shape that story and share it with the world.
Founded in San Antonio in 2002, our Emmy-nominated team handles strategy, scripting, production, and post-production, giving you one thoughtful partner from the first conversation through the final cut.
What the Right Video Can Do
A strong video gives people a reason to listen before it asks them to act. We help you focus the message, find the emotional center, and build a story that can earn attention wherever your audience sees it.
- Make a complex message clear: Give your audience one memorable reason to care.
- Build trust with real people: Use authentic interviews and documentary-style moments.
- Create content that keeps working: Plan from the start for web, events, social, broadcast, and internal use.
A San Antonio Team That Guides the Whole Process
Our Storysmiths bring strategy and production together. We learn what your audience needs to understand, plan the most efficient way to capture it, and manage every detail from interviews and locations to editing, captions, and final delivery.
- Find the story: Research, pre-interviews, and message strategy reveal what matters most.
- Build the production plan: We handle scripts, schedules, locations, crews, and logistics.
- Deliver for every channel: Master films, cutdowns, captions, and versions arrive ready to use.
Strategy Before the Camera
Before we choose shots or write a script, we clarify the audience, the action you want them to take, and the feeling that will help them get there. That foundation keeps the production focused and gives every creative choice a job to do.
Proof That Storytelling Can Move People
For The Arc of San Antonio, a two-film gala story helped contribute to a 10% increase in donations. For Our Lady of the Lake University, research and focus groups shaped four commercials and a larger digital campaign. UP Partnership expanded a student-tested dual-credit concept into a four-video campaign for students and families.
Texas Public Radio used a documentary gala film to connect trusted crisis reporting with community support. The American Academy of Dermatology’s Good Skin Knowledge case study brings together video, original photography, social content, and donor-report storytelling around a program that has reached 16,500 children in more than 80 communities.
Our national campaign work also includes Compassionate USA and the JUST PAY campaign. The scale changes. The approach does not: listen closely, find the human truth, and shape it into a story people can carry with them.

Carlos and his team at Key Ideas are absolutely incredible. Not only did they take our somewhat convoluted storylines and turn them into beautiful narratives, they also handled all the heavy lifting, from scheduling to interview prep and more. They know their stuff from back to front, from storyboarding to the technical aspects of shooting video. They were always communicative, always friendly no matter how much we changed ideas or subjects, and were absolutely top notch professionals. I will recommend this company to anyone and everyone for projects big and small.Posted on Google David GalTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The Key Ideas team has been a reliable partner for us for several years now. They've assisted with remote shoots for edits we handle in-house as well as handle the full spectrum of a project from start to finish completely independently. I joined my organization as their first in-house video team member a few years ago, and during my time here I've slowly clawed back a number of gigs from outside vendors, but Key Ideas always brings the value and they're very easy to work with as people, so we've only strengthened the relationship.Posted on Google Susan QuickTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Video Production FAQ
Video is one of the most successful forms of visual media used to engage, inspire and educate viewers. It is so versatile that many argue that video production is an indispensable tool for realizing any storytelling. Videos allow you to engage specific audiences with your story and call them to act in a powerfully moving way.
Â
Video production is the process of creation, planning, and execution of the idea for a video. Video production usually comprises three phases: pre-production, production, and post-production.
Every project is unique, but our production process can be broken down into three phases:
Â
Pre-production: We will work with you to get to know your story, your goals and define the project’s scope. We learn the most important message you want to communicate from you, and we help simplify the message. We might create scripts, conduct pre-interviews, identify locations, confirm the budget, and arrange filming dates.
Â
Production: We’re rolling. Our team will capture everything needed to tell your story. These might be interviews, filming supporting footage with the subject at different locations, aerial footage, recording voice-overs.
Â
You are always welcome on a Key Ideas set, but if we have done our job during pre-production, you can feel confident that you don’t have to be. In this step, we will be:
Â
Post-production: Once we have recorded all the footage, we work on editing it and assembling it into a coherent narrative, adding graphics, titles, and music as needed. We will deliver a final video that is ready to be shared with your audience.
It all depends on the type of project and where the final video will be shared. Still, we always recommend simplifying your message as much as possible to easily and quickly understand.
As a starting point, we will arrange a personal meeting to help us understand the project requirements. We will create a Creative Brief to define the project scope, key themes, tone of the video, and target audience. You can have as much or as little input to the brief as you’d like. We will not move forward with production until you have approved the final concept.
No! If you have an idea, a concept, a story you want to tell, but you’re unsure of the following steps, just contact us, and we will help get your story told.
