Video Production FAQ
Video is one of the most successful forms of visual media used to engage, inspire and educate viewers. It is so versatile that many argue that video production is an indispensable tool for realizing any storytelling. Videos allow you to engage specific audiences with your story and call them to act in a powerfully moving way.
Video production is the process of creation, planning, and execution of the idea for a video. Video production usually comprises three phases: pre-production, production, and post-production.
Every project is unique, but our production process can be broken down into three phases:
Pre-production: We will work with you to get to know your story, your goals and define the project’s scope. We learn the most important message you want to communicate from you, and we help simplify the message. We might create scripts, conduct pre-interviews, identify locations, confirm the budget, and arrange filming dates.
Production: We’re rolling. Our team will capture everything needed to tell your story. These might be interviews, filming supporting footage with the subject at different locations, aerial footage, recording voice-overs.
You are always welcome on a Key Ideas set, but if we have done our job during pre-production, you can feel confident that you don’t have to be. In this step, we will be:
Post-production: Once we have recorded all the footage, we work on editing it and assembling it into a coherent narrative, adding graphics, titles, and music as needed. We will deliver a final video that is ready to be shared with your audience.
It all depends on the type of project and where the final video will be shared. Still, we always recommend simplifying your message as much as possible to easily and quickly understand.
As a starting point, we will arrange a personal meeting to help us understand the project requirements. We will create a Creative Brief to define the project scope, key themes, tone of the video, and target audience. You can have as much or as little input to the brief as you’d like. We will not move forward with production until you have approved the final concept.
No! If you have an idea, a concept, a story you want to tell, but you’re unsure of the following steps, just contact us, and we will help get your story told.
